Statement and Letter of Reference for Donald T. Weeks
I
met Donald Weeks in November 2003 when I purchased a purebred Quarter
Horse from him. While that
horse was a good quality horse, it was not a good fit for me and my
capabilities at the time. The
horse was sold nearly one year later.
During the interim, I spent my time riding another horse (“Docs
Tag Bar Two”; stable name “Tag”) that Donald owned.
This was (and is) a vastly superior horse in its level of training,
skills, handling, and potential. I
purchased that horse from Donald in late October 2004.
Throughout this time, Donald provided me with well-attended
training and mentorship. He
also introduced me to competition at both the local and statewide levels.
I
purchased a second horse (a yearling, “Rancher Smart Copper”; stable
name “Copper”) from Donald in June 2005.
This is the second generation son of “Rancher Gold,” the
stallion which Donald uses in his equine breeding program.
Both Docs Tag Bar Two and Rancher Smart Copper are purebred Quarter
Horses with calm, level-headed, and positive attitude dispositions with
wonderful personalities to match. I
have been totally pleased with both of these horses, who are permanent
residents at the Twin Firs Ranch (which Donald owns).
With Donald’s assistance and guidance, I am providing Copper with
his basic training, which has proven to be a tremendous learning
experience. I am planning to
purchase a third horse (another offspring from Rancher Gold) from Donald
in 2007. I eventually plan to
expand my purebred Quarter Horse ownership to four well-bred and
well-trained horses.
As
our working relationship has continued to develop over the years, Donald
has become a highly-valued and well-trusted friend.
My association with Donald has always been positive.
I have come to recognize him in the same way as other people … an
honest, well-spoken, straightforward, and multi-faceted man who is a
well-respected expert with horses and equally well-respected in the
equestrian community as well as the community in which he lives.
I
highly and enthusiastically recommend Donald for the exceptional equine
breeding and training program he has developed, as well as his keen
attention to the relationship between horse and rider for which he is
fully experienced. Anyone
willing to take the time can learn a great deal from Donald as well as his
learned and natural abilities with horses.
Donald only deals with high-quality and well-trained horses that
have had the benefit of learning from him and his training program.
My exposure to Donald continues to be an extremely rewarding
experience. I have benefited immeasurably from this “experience of a
lifetime.”
Respectfully,
